The freeways in the 21st century are divided into two secons.
On the outside, is the regular pavement, where the speed limit ranges anywhere from 50 - 85mph.
This is where many people still travel, since there exists lots of cars from the 20th century, that simply can't go much faster.
Then there is the median road, nick named the "Track". This is barefoot only!
Here the speeds go from 89mph - 120mph.
Most of these vehicles are people with barefoot licenses. Private vehicles are usually occupied by yuppies, young adults, and young families.
The majority of cars on the track though, are special vehicles. These include limozines (since most businessment don't really care for showing off their feet), long range busses, and frieght.
Carole took moved to the left of the freeway, and shifted the car into gear, moving her left toes down, clutching with the heel pedal, a wide, round floor button that she tapped on with her heel.
Driving barefooted took emotion, you had to have the passion for going that fast. Being barefooted was part of it. In this case, Carole was also late for picking up her kids from private school. She lifted her right heel up a little, placing more head to the front
of the sensapedal. The futuristic energy engine roared to 111mph.
She pulled her left foot of the carpeting, and rested on her lap.
Even though she was 30 miles away, she new should would be there in just a few minutes. Life in the 21st century is life in the fast lane.
-But she was about to wish it were only the 1990s.
Up next, bare foot braking techniques, a refresher course.
